Genisis 22: 2 In this verse God tells Abraham to go and offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering. We all know that the story ends by God stopping Abraham from doing the sacrifice, and provides a sheep caught by it's horns in the nearby bush, which Abraham and Isaac both sacrifice, and honour God. This brings us to the life of Jesus who God provided as a sacrifice for the sins of the world (John 3: 16). Jesus clearly states in the scriptures that He lays down his life willingly. He says that God has given Him the power to lay down or to take His life back willingly. We can see here the power of a life that is fully surrendered to God.
